Desbok

The desbok is a large pack animal, bred from a smaller wild strain for use in travelling mountain caravans. They are bred to be extremely strong and sturdy, capable of climbing up steep rocky inclines and tolerating temperature extremes and the thin air at high altitudes.

In temperment they are generally easy going and very non-aggressive, though their intelligence is not particularly high. They communicate through loud, deep bass noises emitted from the frog-like pouches on their throats--belches, croaks, grumbles, etc.
